kindle.aijly.com/offline.html | revision r1 | uses the HTML5 application cache (a manifest: offline.appcache)
This page asks the browser to keep a copy of itself and of probe.txt. If the browser understands the request, it should be able to hand this page back with no network at all.
1. Read the log below and wait for it to settle (a few seconds).
2. Write down - or leave on screen - the line "status".
3. Press Menu, then Turn Wireless Off. Wait until the device says
the wireless is off.
4. Press Menu, then Reload (or the refresh button).
5. Did this page come back? Then the browser can hold a page and show it
with the network gone. Did you get "unable to connect" instead? Then it
cannot, whatever else it claims.
If this line is still here when you read the page, the browser ran no JavaScript. The test still works - do steps 3 and 4, and judge by whether the page comes back.
